Measuring Dates

2024/2025 SHOW SEASON MEASURING DATES:

Sunday, 4th August 2024 - 10am – 12pm

Sunday, 1st September 2024 - 10am – 12pm

Sunday, 29th September 2024 - 10am – 12pm

Sunday, 27th October 2024 - 10am – 12pm

January 2025 TBC (Evening) 

PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL NOT BE ANY MEASURING AVAILABLE THE NIGHT BEFORE NELSON A&P SHOW.

FIRST MEASURES: download a Pre Registration Form - First Measure Ever, fill it out and email it to the RAS Head Office: enquiries@ras.org.nz. DO NOT take it directly to the measuring stand without sending it to the RAS first.

Bookings can be made for timeslots on the form below.  You will receive a booking confirmation immediately via the email address that you enter on the form.  IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A BOOKING CONFIRMATION PLEASE CONTACT equestrian@richmondpark.nz

The timeslots are for scheduling purposes only and are not hard and fast times for presentation, as all paperwork must be completed prior to entering the measuring stand with your horse/pony.  PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE HEALTH & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.

Charges for 2024/5 (subject to change):

First measure (either annual or young stock)
with issue of certificate $41.00

Annual re-measure $25.00

Young Stock re-measure $15.00

Life Certificate $100.00 + VET COSTS

(by approval of RAS)

Measuring Health and Safety Rules

  • Horses/Ponies (excluding miniatures) 3 years and over are required to be presented for measuring in a bridle and shall have a bit in their mouth. The reins or the lead shall be connected to the bit.
  • Handlers to be 14 years and over, except for Stallions over 148cm which must have handler 17 years and over AND a second handler. 
  • Handlers to wear enclosed shoes, preferably safety-toe.
  • The Measuring area should be clear of handlers and owners when waiting for measuring.
  • No  Children under 6 years to be in the vicinity of  the  measuring  area.
  • No horses will be measured if suspected of any forbidden substance, and testing may be carried out as per the RAS rules. 
  • Owners are responsible for cleaning up their horse droppings.
  • Entering the measuring stand is at your own risk.

 

The RAS Height certificate must be presented for re-measuring 

    ***PLEASE NOTE: If you have lost or misplaced your RAS Height Certificate we are no longer able to issue you replacement ones at the measuring stand. Replacement Certificates must now be obtained through the RAS Head Office at a cost of $100.00

    If you have an old style height card which does not have the space for a Life Measurement, or has no room for additional annual measures, you must also apply to the RAS for a new card at at cost of $26.00 plus courier (or provide own return bag)
